Vision - iPad as a Document Scanner

The iPad features an 8 megapixel camera and OCR/Scanning apps that promise to turn the iPad into a document scanner,  the potential for this in the classroom is very powerful as it will enable our children to use an all-in-one device to meet their scanning needs instead of lugging around standalone devices. An investigation will be undertaken to compare the iPad with document scanning apps in order to determine whether it is a suitable replacement for standalone CCTV/Scanning devices for all or some vision impaired students, what follows is a list of Apps that will need to be investigated to see how they compare with commonly deployed CCTV and scanning devices as well as some suggested evaluation criteria.
